When Sugar Ray performed at the Miller Oasis on July 6th, 2002 the crowd was a wild bunch of loyal fans. The entire band performed at its best and even had two people come up on stage and say who they are and where they were from. One said "Chicago" and the crowd booed on him, since of course this is Milwaukee not Chicago. And oddly enough, this day was the birth date of Milwaukee. Mark McGrath, the lead singer of Sugar Ray welcomed everyone with his first song, "Words To Me." He also did an extended version of "Fly," their first big hit. At one point two of the band members did a solo version of a song. There were a lot of loyal die-hard Sugar Ray fans in this crowd. Some people had to be careful not to get people angry or they would be booted out. The whole concert was a big success but it left your ears ringing with sound at the end. Sugar Ray played for about an hour and a half with Mark looking sexy as ever. At the end, he said "Goodnight" and "Thanks for coming, I'm thinking about coming here next Summerfest." "Bye, bye!" It started at 10 p.m. and ended at 11:40. The crowd went home happy.
